I acknowledge this is a cilantro novel and unabashedly declare I am in the 🖤 camp. It‘s time for a reread and I am savoring every delicious gothic moment during bedtime reading.

“He wanted all to lie in an ecstasy of peace; I wanted all to sparkle and dance in a glorious jubilee. I said his heaven would be only half alive; and he said mine would be drunk: I said I should fall asleep in his; and he said he could not breathe in mine.”
~Emily Bronte

I feel like it‘s a book nemesis for me (a book I love and hate at the same time)
The characters are quite rough and hateful but their perspective and approach is what kept me stick to the book to the end.
Also to mention Emily Bronte‘s writing style and choice of words have taken me aback! (it‘s her first book that I read)
P.S. Vol.I had more depth in terms of context than Vol.II
Going to try and read this one with a chapter a day method. I haven't read a classic in a LONG time, so the writing is dry to me and hopefully reading it in small increments will be better for my enjoyment😊
