It isn‘t the only reason I‘ve been MIA from Litsy. I‘m halfway through a master‘s capstone seminar I started last month, so I‘ve been occupied. Light at the end of the tunnel! 😅

Tamra @MaureenMc I started with a YouTube tutorial for a dishcloth and was hooked! Try it with a single skein of 100% cotton yarn and YouTube - you can do it! I love to be an enabler. 😆 2y

The best review I can give this is that it inspired me to pick up my knitting again after several months of slump...! As with any collection, the essays are uneven; the best ones are concrete stories rather than generalized musings. There‘s enough texture in the collection not to get (too) samey. A nice read and would make a good gift.

This was a great before-bed read. I read an essay or two a night and made my way through the book over a few weeks. The collection featured a lot of stories that echoed my own experiences, so it really resonated with me. My knitting journey was and is closely tied to the loss of my mom, and it was so helpful to know that I am not alone in my experience.

I‘m thinking of purchasing this book because I would love to join the knitting community and feel that connection, which I know this book touches on. I crochet but was needing something that is easier on my arthritic hands. Can anyone recommend any resources for a newbie who happens to also be a leftie?

Magslhalliday My first book was Cute and Easy - it includes a how to section and has a mitten pattern that is very easy. I must admit I tend to use YouTube or my local knitting shop for most "how to" fixes.

Magslhalliday I was taught basic by my mum, and only got back into it in the last few years - YouTube is wonderful!!! Especially if it's an American notation and I'm thinking "what the...?". 6y

Michelle_mck My Mum is a leftie - I just started knitting this year and YouTube has been great - very pink knits for general stuff - I am going to a continental workshop next week, lots of left handed people swear buy it and it minimises movement so good for arthritis Etc 6y

Valink I think the knittinghelp.com website has instructions for lefties and righties. I joined a knitting group about a year ago and I absolutely love being part of the group! We also all happen to be sailors so we are the only knitting group I know of that also races sailboats together! 6y
