Have you all seen this documentary? I loved it!! It's all about book sellers, mostly rare/antiquarian book sellers and the trade. It's on Kanopy; if your library has that, you have access!

Jess I believe it is also on amazon prime. It was really good! 4y
LeahBergen It‘s so good! 👍🏻 4y

I‘m so excited about this documentary because I‘m such a book nerd! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymcRRt3Ix04

sprainedbrain Oh that looks wonderful! 4y
LeahBergen I saw it this week! It was fantastic! ❤️❤️ 4y
Palimpsest @LeahBergen 😊 great to hear! I thought it looked awesome. Based on your posts I remember that you like books about books too. I recently stacked 84 Charing Cross Road thanks to you. @sprainedbrain I hope it shows near me, but usually I have to drive a little further to see films like this from where I live. (edited) 4y

We passed Penguin Random House all closed up for the night. I love how their books are all lit up and behind glass like cold desserts in a cafe.

CherylDeFranceschi A bookish automat! 😍 7y

While I'm not an Amazon fan (I hold nothing against those who are), I couldn't help being curious about their new store on Columbus Circle that opened today. Unless you're a Prime member, the books are list price.

merelybookish I read a funny write up of the Amazon store in Chicago. It described it as sterile, devoid of any personality. 7y
RinaBrahmbhattBarot Oh I look forward to visiting this place 7y
CherylDeFranceschi Really? The books are list price unless you drink the Kool-Ade? That is fascinating. 7y

Megabooks I'm not a fan of Prime anymore, so you definitely wouldn't catch me there! 7y
saresmoore Excuse me while I go delete my Amazon account forever. It's too creepy! 7y
LeahBergen Umm... what? 7y
JazzFeathers Hey guys, l'm so happy to read your comments and learn there are readers who are not fond of Amazon. I'm not fond either, to the point that even if l'm a self-published author, l didn't put my book on Amazon. But because l hang around other indie authors all the time, l always hear singing the praize of Amazon. I felt quite lonely. I'm so happy to learn l'm not really alone, after all 😊 7y
Hobbinol @JazzFeathers I went to a panel talk of small publishers and they ALL bashed Amazon. I fell out with them when I read in the NYT about the way they treat their employees. I liked them when they dealt in only books, music and dvds, but now they are just HUGE. I really prefer to buy my books from true booksellers. (My spouse still shops with Amazon.) 7y
Hobbinol @merelybookish Ha! The only thing I liked is that all the books are displayed with their covers out. 7y
JazzFeathers @Hobbinol Yeah. I fell out with them when l learn about hiw they threat their employees too. I read about an inquest by a German televition (the biggest werehouse in Europe is in Germany) lt was just... well, let's just say upsetting. 7y
