3 posts | 5 read | 1 to read
Johan is a cold and calculating killer with a mysterious past, and brilliant Dr. Kenzo Tenma is the only one who can stop him! Conspiracy and serial murder open the door to a compelling, intricately woven plot in this masterwork of suspense. Schwald, the most influential person in the state of Bayern, now trusts Johan fully and makes him his right-hand man. Johan could be setting himself up as the wonder boy of the German financial world. Meanwhile, a private detective working for Schwald investigates the mysterious events happening around the man and senses something massive and evil lurking behind it all. His investigation pits him against a terrible monster--are Johan's plans going to come to light? Although Johan knows that Tenma wants to kill him, he pursues a quiet life. But what does he see in a children's book that suddenly causes him to burst into tears?

Pickpick

Dr Tenma continues the search for Johan and may lose his soul in the process.

This was a very intense volume. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes police procedurals and psychological thrillers. It's a perfect example of how #manga is more than just Shonen and Shojo (types I dearly love but they can also give the wrong impression sometimes.)

Not the prettiest spot for reading, but grateful to be at a school where I can read outside while supervising students at lunch.
