Read Nancy Holzner's posts on the Penguin Blog. View our feature on Nancy Holzner’s Deadtown. First in a brand new urban fantasy series that's "fresh and funny, with a great new take on zombies" (Karen Chance) and "full of dangerous magic and populated with characters so realistic, they almost jump off the page" (Ilona Andrews). If you were undead, you'd be home by now... They call it Deadtown: the city's quarantined section for its inhuman and undead residents. Most humans stay far from its borders-but Victory Vaughn, Boston's only professional demon slayer, isn't exactly human.

A plague-like virus hits a part of the city, turning the humans there into zombies. That area has been quarantined off from the rest of the city, and is now known as Deadtown. The main character, Victory, is a shapeshifter. It's an interesting take on the #zombie concept, as they are still the people they were in life, just with a few extra quirks. I've only read the first 3 in the series so far, but it's good so far. #rockinmay @Cinfhen

Cinfhen It actually sounds really good! I'm down to try it! Thanks for posting 😃 7y

Urban fantasy is almost always my #palatecleanser. I can escape the real world, and just immerse myself fully in it. It is THE guilty pleasure in my reading life, and I love that they tend to come in series. There's almost always something new to read, if I don't feel like rereading. The majority of my stash is on my ereader, which means hubby doesn't know how bad my addiction is. Lol! #FeistyFeb @RealLifeReading

RadicalReader @sherryvdh do you like digital books or physical ones more? Why? 7y
sherryvdh @RadicalReader I'm pretty even between the two. I think they both have their perks. Digital is easier on the go, just to throw in my bag or purse. I also like that they save paper. But there is a certain comfort/nostalgia in the smell/feel of print books. I also find print books easier on my eyes in different lighting. 7y
RadicalReader @sherryvdh what is a Kobo? Never heard of it before. 7y

sherryvdh In Canada, our big bookstore chain is Chapters/Indigo. Kobo is their exclusive brand of e-reader. I think it's sold outside of Canada, but I don't really know. @RadicalReader 7y
