so-soThis book was ok as an introduction to or broad overview of Ottoman history. However, it jumped around alot, such as to different time periods, topics, and such. Generally, it seemed to try to cover too much in too short of a book.

so-soReally enjoyable easy read. Although the sequence of the book is loosely chronological, the chapters often go back in forth in time when discussing themes. I was hoping for there to be more about the decline and last days of the Empire.
