The Silent World of Nicholas Quinn
The Silent World of Nicholas Quinn | Colin Dexter
10 posts | 12 read | 4 to read
Morse had never ceased to wonder why, with the staggering advances in medical science, all pronouncements concerning times of death seemed so disconcertingly vague. The newly appointed member of the Oxford Examinations Syndicate was deaf, provincial and gifted. Now he is dead . . . And his murder, in his north Oxford home, proves to be the start of a formidably labyrinthine case for Chief Inspector Morse, as he tries to track down the killer through the insular and bitchy world of the Oxford Colleges . . .

Nicholas Quinn, a member of the Oxford Foreign Examinations Syndicate, who is almost totally deaf but a very talented lip reader, is found murdered at his home. Morse and Lewis investigate.

I enjoy these stories, and there was a good twist at the end, but I wish Hathaway was involved.

DrexEdit I haven't read any of the Colin Dexter books but I do enjoy the various TV series that are based on them! 7mo
rwmg I think I've seen a couple of episodes of Morse but too long ago to remember but more of Lewis 7mo

This series keeps getting better and better! I‘ve decided to read my way through the 14 book series this year without any breaks, and I‘m really enjoying the growth of the characters as I move along. This is book three in the series, and Morse and Lewis have been working together for 2 years already. Their relationship is complicated but interesting, as are Morse‘s skills of deduction. If only I could visit Oxford.

Bk3 of my #QuarantineLibraryHaul is the 3rd in the Inspector Morse series. Unfortunately it‘s an ugly Large Print book but at least I won‘t have any problems reading it😆Quinn, a deaf man who lip reads, is hired by the Chemistry don at Oxford against opposition. When he‘s found murdered in his rooms, Morse & Lewis have enough suspects to keep them busy for awhile with attractive colleagues, porn tickets, wealthy arabs & leaked exam papers

Crazeedi I need to read these books 4y

The third of Colin Dexter‘s Inspector Morse novels, and Dexter is settling into his style and the main characters of Morse and Lewis are developing in to more rounded characters.

Another Morse ticked off the list. Love the simplicity of the stories and am still enjoying getting to know a different Morse.

Is there anything better than a lazy start to a Sunday morning? If there is I can't think what it could be.
