pickWhy do humans feel so compelled to try and leave our mark on the world? Jeffers doesn‘t answer the question for us, but his poetry acknowledges the futility and nobility of trying to fulfill this longing. He reminds us it is a brave thing to pour your energy into art that will likely be forgotten. But we must press on and challenge oblivion, if only for the comfort we bring to others trying to do the same.
