No More Faking Fine
No More Faking Fine: Ending the Pretending | Esther Fleece
18 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
If youve ever been given empty clichs during challenging times, you know how painful it can feel to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. Far too often, it seems the response we get to our hurt and disappointment is to suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be. No More Faking Fine is your invitation to get gut-level honest with God through the life-giving language of lament. Lament, a practice woven throughout Scripture, is a prayer that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. As author Esther Fleece says, Lament is the unexpected pathway to true intimacy with God, and with those around us. Esther learned this the hard way, by believing she could shut down painful emotions that haunted her from a broken past she tried to forget on her fast track to success. But in silencing her pain, she robbed herself of the opportunity to be healed. Maybe youve done the same. No More Faking Fine is your permission to lamentto give voice to the hurt, frustration, and disappointment youve kept inside and silenced for too long. Drawing from careful biblical study and hard-won insight, Esther reveals how to use Gods own language to draw closer to Him as He leads us through any darkness into His marvelous light.

Since I won't be returning the LitsyLove for these letters, I thought I would at least share a goodbye here. I've loved every moment of receiving and sending but I am no longer able to participate. 💌 Thanks to each of you for your penpal friendship.

ImperfectCJ I just now noticed this. So sorry to see you leave the group! I sent out a letter earlier this week, so you'll have one more from me. 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @ImperfectCJ Thank you ~ it really was a hard choice but I felt relief after I sent the email. 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @MsRadioSilence I would love that. I'm still working on that project. I actually planned to get the window out tomorrow but I picked up an extra shift at work 2 days in a row. 4y
Princess-Kingofkings @curiouserandcurioser Yes and they are gorgeous. You bet I'll be sharing them here at I've written a proper thank you! 4y
curiouserandcurioser @Princess-Kingofkings im glad they made it and thank you! We will miss you.💜 4y
ImperfectCJ @Princess-Kingofkings Sometimes saying "no" is the best choice. To be honest, litsylove has been a challenge for me lately, too...I feel like I have only negative, anxious things to write, and that's no fun for anyone. Glad you're still on Litsy! 4y
UwannaPublishme Just saw this. Glad you‘ll still be on Litsy, but will miss you in our pen pal group. Take good care! 🤗❤️❤️❤️ 4y

I took better pictures of some of my choices for my predictions of five star reads, but none of them have my newly neutered baby Tiberius in them. The one one one the right is

CatLass007 This is an audiobook I'm reading and I don't know how to take a picture of that: (edited) 7y

CoffeeCatsBooks Kitty is almost camouflaged! 😻 7y
CatLass007 @CoffeeCatsBooks I know, he often is camouflaged. Our little gold kitty is the same color as the floor almost. He is such a lover, though, always has to be around my mom or me. And he has the loudest purr. #catsoflitsy 7y

Breaking my hiatus to share this with all of you. I know so many of you were expecting me to go on my trip, and as most of us know, that didn't happen. I put up a real personal blog post up today about lament, and lamenting that loss. I hope it helps you. https://graceandfeminism.wordpress.com/2017/08/18/eight-months/

mom2bugnbee Thank you for being so transparent. (I had been thinking about you & wondering where you "went".) Christians don't entirely understand this until they've been through the heartbreak that you've described. It's not talked about enough, & it's so very real. (Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.) Keep lamenting, & keep sharing. ((hugs)) 7y
maximoffs @mom2bugnbee thank you ❤️ 7y
Bostonmomx2 I knew pretty early on in your post that there was a reason God prevented you from going on that trip. I think the way it happened was pretty sucky but 2 things happened (imo), one...your life was saved. PRAISE GOD!! And 2 it sounds to me like you'll have an even stronger relationship with Him now. I'm sorry you missed this trip, hopefully something else bigger and better will come along once you're ready. ❤️❤️ 7y

I am really in love with this book. I learned so much, and really learned that the lamenting process is BIBLICAL. It was so freeing and honestly a must read for any follower of Jesus. *i received a DRC in exchange for an honest review*

BookFreakOut My mom curates our church library, I'll have to show her this one. 7y
