This is NOT about the OED (glorious as it is). I wanted to share a link to an artist who uses books as her medium. I think she‘s sort of the perfect artist for this group. https://mymodernmet.com/book-art-elizabeth-sagan/

❣️I was at Barnes & Noble shopping for my secret Valentine 🤫 and I found THESE fantastic Bible highlighters. It‘s a twist-up transparent waxy crayon; goes on smooth and doesn‘t bleed through even very thin pages. I tried every color and they work great. 👍🏽

*️⃣ (If you‘re looking for a fine-point highlighter, these are not it. They resemble crayons and don‘t keep a point for long.)

DGRachel These are fantastic. They‘re also great for highlighting in Norton Anthologies. 😉 6y
emilyhaldi Omg I looooove wax highlighters! 6y

Ladies and gentlemen, the Oxford English Dictionary circa 1978! I can only imagine how many more volumes it incorporates now 😆! I was told they make a big single-volume edition where the pages are tissue paper-thin and you need a magnifying glass to read the print. Is that true?

raeintheworld It is true! We had one giant volume in the newsroom at school. I loved that thing. 7y
tjwill Yes they do! The "Compact OED." It is quite large. I don't have one, but I've looked at it at libraries before. 7y

TheWordJar If ever I were to splurge on myself, this would probably be it! #wordnerd 7y
Moray_Reads I think the print edition runs to about twenty volumes... 7y
Suzze I have a Compact OED and I love it so much. Treated myself to it many many years ago through Book of the Month Club! (It was very different back then). 7y
drokka 23 volumes now including the reference guide. You'd think that wouldn't be required if one knows their alphabet, but who knows? 😜 7y
Librarianaut Yep. Read it (them!) as part of my Cataloging course in library school. ❤️ me some OEM!! 7y
Leslie I switched to the concise version for my classroom-only 2 Volumes, no need for the magnifying glass. Still offers the "story" of every word. 7y
RealBooks4ever What's with the rogue black volume? 🤔 7y
BookBabe I love tissue-thin pages ❤ 7y
