Unwrap My Heart: Or It's Time for Mummies
Unwrap My Heart: Or It's Time for Mummies | Alex Falcone, Ezra Fox
4 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Sofia is just a normal high school girl, worried about getting her homework done and looking cool in the lunchroom, when HE shows up: a devastatingly handsome new kid, mysteriously covered in decaying bandages and staring at her from the empty holes where his eyes should be. She thinks he's just a hipster, but is there more to this handsome stranger than meets the eye? Yes. He's a mummy. We're not really making a secret about this. The twist is he's a mummy. It's a book about a girl who falls in love with a mummy. We've read young adult books about teenage girls unknowingly falling in love with vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, fairies, mermen, warlocks, dreamwalkers, and trolls. Seriously, there was one about trolls. It's time for mummies, dammit. It's time for mummies.

Day 6 of #37by37

Read a bunch of monster books yesterday which seemed suitable for a 13th. Was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed most of the Amazon Original series from October.

My favorite book read yesterday was Unwrap My Heart. ⬇️

MatchlessMarie I know this was supposed to be a joke book but OMG. When I tell you I am Sofia. She is so hopelessly awkward and cringe. Reminded me a lot of me at 17 (and now let‘s be real 🙃). It was adorable and I laughed so much too. 5d

I was about to make a snarky post asking if anyone is actually finding brackish for the word search and then it decides to show up 😂 #HauntedShelf #GrimReaders

PuddleJumper It's a tough one! Congratulations on finding it! I still need owl of all things! 3w
MatchlessMarie @PuddleJumper searching for owl made me realize there‘s a fair amount of scowling happening in these books 🤣 3w

This is, without a doubt, the silliest book I have read in years. It's more than just a self-aware Twilight. I'm probably biased since I'm a long time listener to the Read it and Weep podcast, but I think they did an excellent job writing this book, making fun of what the public loves about paranormal YA romance.
