I feel like the author of I am number four saw successful franchises such as star wars and milked the success dry. My main complaint is the similarity of the bad guys, the mogadorians, to the mandalorians of star wars. They behave the same, love for weapons and war, check, destroy their planet for the sake of advancement, check, talented soldiers, check, I could go on about the similarities, It is to the point where it feels unoriginal.

#20series20days Day 4
I Am Number Four (The Lorien Legacies)
OK so, the premise might not be all that original (and the romance between John and Sarah had me rolling my eyes and skimming) but the relationships between the Loric as they found each other, and each of their back stories, kept me interested and rooting for them.
This series is like candy and I enjoyed it.

Geweldig boek en de film was ook top. Jammer dat er geen nieuwe films van deze reeks zijn uitgekomen. Gelukkig zijn er wel nog boeken.

That's so parental! 😂

I probably won't continue this series. It has some interesting threads; but, the execution isn't superb. It's not as exciting as one would expect in relation to the content.

I Am Number Four is a gripping book that keeps you engaged in the story of John Smith. It is exciting and it is a real page turner because it is interesting.

I haven't been on Litsy for a while, life getting in the way. I finished this audiobook a few weeks ago. Great opening chapter, the rest was okay. Don't think I'll continue this series.

SamanthaMarie Life can be so busy and full of ups and downs. Hopefully most of it has been okay/good ♤ 5y

I had this on audiobook so I gave it a shot. If I was a younger reader I'm sure I would have loved it. The language and writing just weren't for me. The concept was good, I just didn't love the immaturity of the characters. Lunch however, was delicious.

mom2bugnbee FWIW, my dystopia-loving daughter read this when she was 13 & didn't go on to the next book. 7y

The cat was in a weirdly affectionate mood while I read this alien story. Fun read. I look forward to finding out what happens next.
