When you read the book, then start watching the movie with snuggles and a bottle ❤❤❤ This Little Golden Books version of Moana was cute and well done. I loved that the pictures used vibrant colors that caught Mari's eye and got her to sit still so we could read all the way through. #startthemearly #disney #disneyprincess #littlegoldenbooks

For what it is, it's a good Little Golden Book adaptation. But this is one case where I'll say the movie was actually better than the book. Regardless, Little loves it, and Maui's Hook that he got for Christmas 😃

literarymermaid "You're Welcome" came out a lot over our holiday. It is one of many phrases that are officially sung in our home now. We listen to the whole soundtrack too, he had me add most of it to his very own playlist. The movie was amazing and I've been looking for that little golden book. 7y

I love that she's NOT a (helpless) princess.
I love that there is no love interest.
I love the music. (No surprise since Lin Manuel was involved!)
And best of all, my kids are growing up with Disney movies/stories that are about more than a princess waiting for her prince.
(We now own several Moana books and the soundtrack. 😄)
