There were a few scenes in I really liked, but overall it didn‘t speak to me. I think once kids reach this reading level they have so many options for great books there‘s no need to spend time on some of these series that have really gone downhill. #Scarathlon2022 #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious #Spookoween2022 @TheSpineView #31by31 @Catsandbooks #PointsAThon @dieareader @GHABI4ROSES

TheSpineView Well done 1y
Catsandbooks I loved this series as a kid but now I think cause there's so many of them they get kind of cookie-cutter like 1y
IndoorDame @Catsandbooks exactly! I thought the early ones were totally different! 1y

One of my favorite book series which would be perfect to have in any classroom. This SF book takes Jack and Annie back in time to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1915 on Halloween! They have to help Louis Armstrong bring his gift of music to the world while being in a spooky town.

Nrossi This book would be good for AS since she has been to tons of places that help her brainstorm her books. UDL strategy 3.1 for teaching background knowledge on New Orleans and Louis Armstrong. El 30 would be good for this. https://www.rif.org/literacy-central/book/magic-tree-house-42-good-night-ghosts this is also a good site with activities where you can make crossword puzzles and others! #ucflae3414sp21 3y
DrSpalding Reading is fundamental is a high-quality resource and I love the idea of an author study with this fabulous series. Kids enjoy crossword puzzles and that can work well with teaching vocabulary. 3y

In this story, the kids take themselves to New Orleans, around 1915, with a magic trumpet that can only be used once. They find Louis Armstrong as a young boy and to convince him to start making music.....

A Good Night For Ghosts, in this MF readers follow siblings, Jack and Annie, in another adventure of the Magic Treehouse series. In this story, the treehouse transports Jack and Annie back in time to New Orleans. Their mission, find Louis Armstrong and make him play music. Through persistence, hard work and quite a scare with a pirate ghost, the kids complete their mission. This book would be good for LC and IR.

SarynaN https://youtu.be/AH6WtuIPna0 This link provides a short animated clip giving students further details on Louis Armstrong. UDL 2.5 will help illustrate a main character through another source of media besides text. ESOL strategy 17 will be used to provide students with contextual support, along with the background knowledge that the book provides. #ucflae3414su19 5y
DrSpalding I agree with literature circles for this series! This would be a wonderful book to include in social studies instruction and to teach about this famous historical jazz musician. 5y
