4 posts | 3 read | 1 reading | 5 to read
Rachel Khoo cooks up a storm from her tiny Parisian kitchen, bringing the magic of France into our homes. The 'little kitchen' concept might be a considerable hindrance to most chefs, but Khoo has made the most of it' New York Times 'The fabulous fairy godmother of French cuisine' Easy Living Rachel Khoo was determined to get to grips with French cooking, so to learn more she moved to Paris, not speaking a word of French, and enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu, the world-famous cookery school. From a Croque Madame muffin and the classic Boeuf bourguignon, to a deliciously fragrant Provencal lavender and lemon roast chicken, Rachel celebrates the culinary landscape of France as it is today and shows how simple these dishes are. The 120 recipes in the book range from easy, everyday dishes like Omelette Piprade, to summer picnics by the Seine and afternoon 'goter' (snacks), to meals with friends and delicious desserts including classics like Crme brulee and Tarte tatin. It's a book that celebrates the very best of French home-cooking in a modern and accessible way. In The Little Paris Kitchen, Rachel Khoo serves up a modern twist on classic French cooking. After graduating from Central Saint Martin's College with a degree in Art and Design, British food writer Rachel was lured to Paris to study ptisserie at Le Cordon Bleu. Rachel shot to fame when her TV series, The Little Paris Kitchen, was broadcast by BBC. Her beautiful tie-in cookbook and the follow up, My Little French Kitchen, have been published around the globe. Rachel now travels the world working on a variety of projects, including a weekly recipe column for the Evening Standard.

Pickpick

Expat life turned my relationship with Kindle into an arranged marriage: not passionate but necessary. But I felt my first little flutter when I discovered that my Little Paris Kitchen cookbook was still beautiful on the iPad. You want to spend the afternoon in Paris? This is the ticket. This is one of those dreamy cookbooks to sit and read, not just work from. Me and Kindle, we‘ve got a thing that works now.

alanacristin Ugh, ditto on expat ebooking! But this one really does work well on a tablet 😄 I've gotten so many kindle deal cookbooks, i want a designated kitchen tablet for them all. This book, though, i now have on my phone as well so i can shop for ingredients more easily 😂 thanks for the tip about her IG! Following now 😍 6y
MargoCatts @alanacristin Where are you expatting? I made an Evernote cookbook of my recipe cards and pages before I left, but between Pinterest, and now NYT cooking, and Epicurious...I use my old recipes less and less. (And PS RecipeTin is my new favorite IG 😛) 6y
alanacristin I brought my old binder of recipes over with us this time to Japan but don't pull it out often. When we were in Canada, i checked out heaps of new cookbooks from the library and copied the recipes i wanted to try. I should have digitized them 😭will check out that ig!! Thanks 😃 6y
MargoCatts @alanacristin Enjoy your adventure! 6y
