pickA short book that contains the three prequel shorts to the Brother Cadfael series. They all take place in the 1100‘s pre-A Morbid Taste For Bones and tell of Cadfael as he came to and settled into life at Shrewsberry Abbey. Cadfael is a soldier-turned-herbalist who uses his knowledge and observational skills to solve mysteries.
The language takes some getting used to but I‘m excited to move from here into the long series of full-length novels.
