Today was a flare-up day, so bed, books and puppies are the only thing on the schedule today. Maxwell refused to sit still for a picture so he's a little blurry.

I've been trying to get through this book for years. It sits on my nightstand and every few months I try again.

I love Spotify's Daylists because the names are so freaking funny. Here was mine for today. 😄🤣

1. I can't do this anymore but in high school & college I was able to identify bones & their markings blindfolded. It all started when my Pre med & Forensic science teachers said they would give extra credit points to students who could be handed a bone while blindfolded and do it. I got so good at it, they wouldn't let me play anymore.
2. Tagged. All the fae in this book have unique magic.

#StorySettings Day6 Seaside
This is a dark retelling of the 12 Dancing Sister. It takes place in a seaside village. In this story, the FMC is grieving the deaths of 4 of her sisters. She begins to have visions and starts believing their deaths were no accident.
#StorySettings Day5 River
This is a murder mystery where multiple deaths keep happening at the "drowning pool", a portion of the river that is below a cliff. The FMC returns home after her sister's death and starts investigating it to prove her sister didn't jump. In the process she uncovers many town secrets.
#LibraryHaul picked up some graphic novels I had on hold and used my horror movie bag today. I love this bag, and got it from a local at our towns farmers market a few years ago. She had this screen printed on a shirt and I asked if she could make it on a canvas bag. (She had other designs on bags) So I placed a special order and now it's one of my favorite bags.
I started Re: Dracula a few days late but thankfully May 3rd & 4th were quick so I was able to get through them and May 5th while running errands today.

This weekends doodle. I love how this one came out. I just wish my white pens didn't skip and clog so much.

May picks. I had to change the #3 pick because book 3 in the series was picked and I need to read book 2 first.
I'm ready to get started knocking more ebooks off my tbr.

My pick for April was Skeleton Creek.
“Strange things are happening in Skeleton Creek . . . and Ryan and Sarah are trying to get to the heart of it.“
I loved this YA mystery. It takes place in 2 parts, Ryan's journal entries and Sarah's video clips. The book gives you passwords to use on a real website so that you can watch her video clips. I highly recommend this for kids or kids at heart.

April Pick is the entire series of Something is Killing the Children
“When children begin to go missing in the town of Archer‘s Peak, all hope seems lost until a mysterious woman arrives to reveal that terrifying creatures are behind the chaos - and that she alone will destroy them, no matter the cost.“ (VIA Goodreads)
I read the entire series in a few days. I loved the story and the artwork.

April Pick is Find Me.
“One year ago, my family was murdered by the man who has stalked me but I got away & he‘s still out there, searching for me. Thanks to WITSEC, I‘ve been given a new life & identity.
My uncle has helped me glue myself back together & given me the tools I‘ll need to survive. I‘m not fixed & my grief is heavy, but I‘m at a point where I can try to move on.“ (Via Goodreads)
1. It's not springtime without...... surving on Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream. I am allergic to pretty much all plants and insect venum/bites/stings. As soon as things bloom, I'm sneezing and my body breaks out in hives.
2. Skeleton Creek was my favorite. I loved the combo of journal entries and online video clips that told the story.
3. At the end of the month we are traveling to Canada to meet up with our friends for a few days.

I mostly listen to variations of metal but mostly metalcore. These are the songs I added most recently. I find most of my new music either through suggestions on Spotify, tiktok or through friends.

I've been spending a little time each morning working on ways to relax. Zendoodle, coloring pages, puzzle books and building miniatures are my current favorites.

I haven't touched my puzzle books in months, but I woke up this morning feeling like it was a puzzle kind of day. I also plan to finish a few shorter books from my kindle TBR.

I'm about halfway through this series and I'm obsessed with the artwork 😍
"There was a moment not long ago when I thought: This is it. I'm dead. "
"One should never decide something as serious as bangs when they have a bottle of wine in their stomachs."
Everyone loves to read about a princess trapped in a tower, waiting for her prince to come save her. Well, everyone but me, I guess.
#FirstLineFridays
One of my favorite art pieces from the album.
My best friend Jerry made this book for the 30th anniversary of the Downward Spiral. It's all the artwork from the album. He did it just for fun and made a few copies for his friends that are also super fans. I recieved mine today and I am over the moon. He introduced me to all things Trent Reznor when we were teens and I'm so happy to still be friends almost 30 years later.
My goal hadn't been to embarrass him. It had been to make him pause and think. To remember that his words and actions had consequences.

1. ❄️🔪🌶
2. I have about 8 of JRWards most recent BDB releases I haven't started yet. I always stock pile them because as soon as I finish one, I instantly want to start the next. Only now I have so many, that I know I'm not going to get anything done for a week when I binge read them .
3. Sarah Maas, VE Schwab, Jim Butcher, Stephen King, JR Ward
#TLT
1. IT - This is one of my all time favorite movies and books. I loved the original and the remake.
2. Shawshank Redemption - I loved how the movie took this short story and turned it into this amazing movie.
3. Hobbit - like above, I loved that they made 3 movies from 1 book. I love the added stories that helped you connect more with all the characters.
Honorable mentions : The Shining, Hunger Games and True Blood.

I finished 9 ebooks for March and had 2 DNFs. Here is my list for April. Im excited to knock even more out this month.

March romance pick was The Monster's Den. I love paranormal romances with fated mates but this one incorporated a mother's willingness to do whatever she has to to protect and care for her child. I loved watching huge alpha males become wrapped around a 2 year old's finger and making a pack from different species.
#BookBracket
Graphic Novel pick for March is Camp Spirit. I was instantly drowned in nostalgia within the first few pages. All the music references, clothing, and Elodie's attitude reminded me of my friends and I in high school. I would have liked more of the camp mystery in the story, but the hysterical interactions with the campers and the other teen counselors made up for it.
#BookBracket2024
March pick is Ashes of You. Its book 5 in the Lost & Found series but it is by far my favorite one out of the series. I loved the mixture of romance, suspense, teenage angst, trauma and healing. Oh the feels with this one.
#ItTakesAllKinds Day14 Lawyer
The Eddie Flynn Series
"Eddie Flynn used to be a con artist. Then he became a lawyer. Turns out the two aren't that different. " (via goodreads)

Finished 2 cabinets. The one with the wand boxes was especially time consuming. Lots of time spent waiting for glue to dry 😆
