I have noticed that a lot of the books I‘ve read last year were written by male authors. Sooo this year I‘m trying to read more female authors.. Are there any recommendations? 📖👸🏻

Kalalalatja Margaret Atwood, Robin Hobb, Han Kang, Laini Taylor, Kirsty Logan, Yaa Gyasi, Catherynne M. Valente, Sarah J. Mass, Daphne du Maurier, and soooo many more. These are a little of everything, so there should be someone there for you 😄 6y
sarea7 @Kalalalatja thank you!🙌 6y
Linsy Liane Moriarty (mystery), Maria Semple (humor) & Ami McKay (historical fiction). I love them all!! (edited) 6y

The 1st time I read this one I was shocked at the graphic abuse described in the book. But now I have re-read it I understand why everyone rated it so highly. The abuse no longer blinded me from noticing the beautifully written story. I loved the protagonist of the story, Celie, and the way she still carried so much love in her heart, even after all those years of many types of abuse. I‘m happy I gave this book another chance ✨✨💅

“The oceans never stop ... the wind never finishes. Sometimes it disappears, but only to gather momentum from somewhere else, returning to fling itself at the island ... Existence here is on the scale of giants. Time is in the millions of years; rocks which from a distance look like dice cast against the shore are boulders hundreds of feet wide, licked round by millennia..” 🌊💙
