A sweet and engaging book, not exactly what I expected, but a satisfying retelling of Cinderalla. #youngadult

Circe | Madeline Miller

Pickpick

I've fallen in love with exactly two book characters in my life: Circe is one of them. I devoured this book from the first page, then forced myself to stop reading all together as I reached the end in a futile attempt to make it last. Was my crying at the end because of the ending...or because it was over???

The Night Watch | Sarah Waters

A gentle plot for Sarah Waters. I enjoyed this book, but the reverse chronological order was weird. I wanted to re-read it immediately in the proper order, but it was a library book and I had to return it. I'll check it out again eventually. #lesbian 🌈

I hadn't read Pippi Longstocking since I was a kid and I enjoyed it just as much. Pippi is such a good example of female confidence. Lauren Child's illustrations were fantastic!

Forward: A Memoir | Abby Wambach

Mehso-so

I was only vaguely familiar with Abby Wambach before reading her memoir. It was interesting (and infuriating) to get an insider's view of professional women's soccer. Also an honest look at the author's battle with alcohol and drugs. #ReadHarder
