i love this book, but it‘s not for everyone
a psychological thriller about emotional abuse, manipulation and parental neglect isn‘t exactly the type of book i would usually go for but this book gripped me and didn‘t let me go until i had finished the last page
the characters are interesting, engaging, relatable and complex
highly recommend
10/10 - read with the lights on

one of my only childhood decisions I approve of
this novel is great for kids and adults, it has amazing lessons on life, growing up and how to make the beat out of a bad situation
it always manages to make me feel better
the mix of magic and put unadulterated childlike emotion bubbles over like a cauldron of nostalgia
9/10 - better than harry potter

as always, Patrick Ness has done it again
as one of my favourite authors, it‘s no surprise that I recommend this book
like most of its work, it‘s raw yet exciting, fun but dark
it‘s the epitome of high school
this novel is an interesting concept and amazing execution
9/10 - read it with your thinking cap on

honestly such a raw and accurate representation of agoraphobia it‘s scared
this book personifies the colour pink, it‘s like a sunset, it‘s warm and it‘s happy yet it‘s sad because something is leaving
i honestly love this book so much
10/10 - it‘s an aesthetic in a novel

thank you Noelle Stevenson for helping every lesbian live out their dream in one comic book
even by the first page i felt at home, reminders of girl guides and school camp drowning the pages, peppy girls in their uniforms eager to try something new
not only is this book nostalgia for older readers, but it is motivational for younger readers as ever character is in some way a role model
9/10 - can‘t wait to finish the next one

ever wished that lord of the rings had more sex (and more dragons)?
i really liked the political aspects of the novel, and the world building and characters were astounding, but it did sometimes feel as if the sex and violence was inserted into scenes for no reason
i understand that reader interest (and scenes that let you take a break) are important but it could‘ve been so much shorter if some of the adult scenes were taken out
7/10 - too long

this book is graphic, and preteen me was hooked
i wasn‘t disappointed
it was fun, violent, gripping and the twists were perfectly executed
the main character was hard to connect with but you could see yourself in him
the book wasn‘t scary through its story but it‘s characters
maybe that‘s why the story felt lacking
sometimes it felt more like a well-written wattpad doc than a published book
6/10 - the characters were more developed than the plot

Nimona | Noelle Stevenson

this book reminds me of the nostalgic you get from watching an old movie
it‘s exciting, yet comforting
it‘s intense, yet calm
there is always a sense of familiarity between the reader and Nimona
she is our inner teenage rebel, she is spiteful but she is kind
i highly recommend this novel, not only for the wit but for the artwork and overall feel too
10/10 - this book started my graphic novel collection

perfectly captured the feeling of being young, in love and the feeling that something is slightly broken
the representation and rawness of this book is astounding
i loved the poetic style, it made me feel both centred in reality and in my own head
10/10 - found its place on my favourites shelf
