A lovely story that explores how to navigate high-school again with the weight of grief on one‘s shoulders. The two potential love interests are sweet and the female friendship depicted here is excellent!! Can‘t wait to read book 2 set to come out in 2019! #emerylord #yabooks #youngadult #yalit #summerreading

5/5⭐️. Loved this “League of Legends” inspired futuristic story featuring an Asian rainbow-haired teen hacker heroine! Great for video game lovers. #warcross #marielu #yabooks #ireadya #yalit #yaliterature

Truly Devious: A Mystery | Maureen Johnson

4.5/5⭐️. Great read-alike for Lockhart‘s “The disreputable history.” Also, a little similar to “Turtles all the way down” BUT you may actually get to solve the mystery. #yabooks #maureenjohnson #trulydevious

5/5⭐️. Silvera shines in this poignant story about two gay teens who receive the call that they will die within the next 24 hours. In an effort to make the most of their remaining time on earth, they befriend one another through an app. Inevitably tragic yet filled with hope. 😭💔 #bookstagram #adamsilvera #ireadya

4.5🌟. Excellent continuation to the series. My only criticism: Arden misses an opportunity to possibly diversify her story with LGBT representation. What if a gay or female character fell in love with Vasya who is cross-dressing to pass off as a man? Also how frustrated any people who question their gender or sexual identities might be to see this person so easily be something they‘re not. An enchanting and adventurous story regardless.

2/5⭐️.
Disappointed with how this turned out. Readers are meant to be intrigued by why the killer is killing more than who is doing the killing. The reason was lame and I figured it out maybe after the third or fourth murder. Perkins' writing wasn't particularly impressive and I will be removing the word "lurch" from my vocabulary for a while. Scary enough for fans of slasher films, but not mentally stimulating for fans of psychological thrillers.

Cute ya contemporary - a decent summery read. Nothing particularly exciting or original. Didn't really have any significant connections to any of the characters. Not one of my fave books this year, but definitely one of the best covers.

I absolutely adored this book! If you're interested in understanding the universe, I do recommend reading For Darkness Shows The Stars first. But if you just really like The Scarlet Pimpernel, you can definitely enjoy this as a stand alone. I'm not entirely sure what was so wonderful about this book, but I could NOT put it down! #acrossastarsweptsea #dianapeterfreund #ya #ireadya #dystopian #yabook #youngadult #yalit

austenandarthur I'm not normally a fan of dystopian, but I kind of want to read this one! 7y

👍🏼Goodies
1. Story emphasizes how idiotic and crazy kdramas are (even if they are addicting)
2. Luca would actually make a decent boyfriend
3. Desi has the best dad ever

👎🏼Not-so-goodies
1. Really only funny if you've watched a k-drama before
2. Desi is a control freak and obnoxious
