Today someone on Litsy posted the 1st pg. of "A Conjuring of Light" by V.E. Schwab, after reading that page alone, I found the writing 2 my taste. After reading fellow Litsy user reviews, I found out that it's the 3rd book of a Trilogy. I quickly bought the first book on e-book and already ordered the physical copy. Just 2 hrs have passed and I'm on pg. 122. I'm hooked! I love this book! I'm happy I found it!

I really love the cover art for both The Odyssey by Homer & The Iliad by Homer. Both books were published by Signet Classics. I'm a sucker for good cover art - as you know I tend to judge a book by its cover - a lot! I definitely shouldn't be doing that -
But what can I do? *sigh*

This book is the author Bill Clegg's memoir of his crack-cocaine addiction which drained his bank account of over 20k, ruined his New York City publishing agency and also left him scorn by his boyfriend of a few years. Quite a sad and tragic memoir. It's unbelievable what drug addiction can do to a successful person. The book is a fast read and overall I give it a positive grade.

Rainbow Six | Tom Clancy
Pickpick

This was my first Tom Clancy book and a great introduction to his writing. This military fiction book focuses on a Multi-National Special Counter-Terrorist Group called "Rainbow" based out of England who are on call 24/7. Lots of action in this book with multiple mission settings. I enjoyed this as my first Tom Clancy novel. A great introduction to him as an author.

When I read this really short book all I kept thinking was that Leo Kesseler is imitating the author Sven Hassel. And guess what? He is! Leo Kessler is just a pen name of a British hack who stole a lot from or I guess was hell of a lot inspired by Sven Hassel. I don't like this book just for this fact. But if you enjoy WWII stories especially from the German viewpoint or enjoyed reading S.H. then this books 4U. As It certainly wasn't for me!

This book is narrated by the friends and band members of Darby Crash who sang in the California Hardcore Punk band The Germs. The book details his rise to fame and his demise by intentional heroin overdose. As dumb as he may of acted - the man was a true genius of his time. If you're into non fictional tragic anti-heroes or punk rock music - then you'll love Lexicon Devil. Darby Crash is our generations Peter Doherty.

Hemingway's Notebook | Bill Granger
Mehso-so

From what I read on the back of the book - I thought this book is going to be a really cool spy thriller but it was in a way kind of dull for my taste and a very slow read. I thought for a while I wasn't going to finish the book as it was taking me way longer than usual to finish a book. To me - there was just too much shit going on in this book. So Identification say it's a so-so book.

This was a very page turning crime thriller that someone had left in my building's laundry room. At first I thought - great another shitty book someone left - but just reading the first chapter I actually got into it. I love how it's like a modern Sherlock Holmes in a way based in Present Day Great Britain. A definite page turner which leaves quite a few surprises a long the way. If you like detective stories in particular - then the pick is 4U.

American Gods | Neil Gaiman
Pickpick

One of Neil Gaiman's best work. This novel is a modern fantasy filled with a mix of different mythologies. The story is about a certain man named Shadow who has just been released from prison and on the flight home meets Mr. Wednesday, who is one of my favorite characters in all the books that I've read. Even though it was a slow-read for me because I was having difficulty keeping up with the mythology parts I really enjoyed this book a lot.

The Great Gatsby | Francis Scott Fitzgerald
Pickpick

This is my favorite book ever written by one of my favorite authors ever. This book has everything that I ever wanted a book to have. The setting of 1920s, right after the Great War, a love rekindled, early mafia figures, New York City and Long Island, jealously, cheating, crime and murder, parties and the time where women were beginning to earn their respect. This book will forever be #1 in my heart. Read this book. Amazing piece of literature.

Crime and Punishment | Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky
Pickpick

Crime & Punishment is one of my favorite classic books that I have ever read. Just the first chapter opens up with a character contemplating a robbery which ends up in a cold-blooded murder. I love the setting of Russia in the late 19th century. If you weren't made to read this book in High School then I recommend reading it before you die. Please, some people find this book slow-going but give this book a try.

This book was actually my very first Fantasy book that I ever bought and I remember why I bought it too! The cover art looked so freaking cool! I'm really glad I read it - because I totally got into it and bought the rest of the series. Weiss' & Hickman's chemistry really works because reading his or her other books' without the other co-author I noticed that they weren't as interested or well written. Also the book has some amazing characters!

This great book is written by the friend to both the shooters' (Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold) who details the beginning of the friendship to both of them, details the many incidents, altercations and bullying that happened at Columbine as well as its unofficial hierarchy. He also writes out the entire day of what happened to him on 4/20/99 as well as the days and months after. Great book and a great read. Very informative.

I also wanted to let anyone of you know that I myself have been studying and researching almost everything about the Columbine Shootings. If anyone has questions, please let me know and I will answer them if I can.

Columbine | Dave Cullen

Also I would recommend reading No Easy Answers by the shooters' friend Brooks Brown. Even though B.B. is a attention whore I regard his book more truthful than Cullen's. Also read A Mother's Reckoning by Sue Klebold (Mother of Dylan Klebold - 2nd Participant of the CHS Shooting)

Columbine | Dave Cullen

This is just links to learning the truth about the shootings at Columbine High School that happened on 4/20/99. Do not read Cullen's book and take his writing to heart. His book is absurdly not researched at all: Legit Columbine Forum: http://columbinemassacre.forumotion.com/forum Also: www.acolumbinesite.com and on YouTube search for Columbine Video Archives these 3 sites are legit columbine research sites if you are interested.

Such a sad and amazing book by a mother who has to deal with the fact that her son not only took away his own life at 17 - but took the lives of 13 others and participated in one of the worst school shootings in US history. I personally read this book in two days and couldn't put it down. She is a strong and amazing woman for coming out to the public with this information and I applaud her courage. I hope Harris' parents can someday come out too.

This book is NOT researched at all. Cullen didn't do his homework and stated his opinion not facts! His theory of the motives behind the shooting and even the crap he states about the shooters is just such garbage! If you want to know anything that is true please go to legit Columbine Research forums who will state a similar feeling towards Cullen as a BS artist. I'm angry he got reviews from people in the publishing world saying #1 book on CHS.

Columbine | Dave Cullen

This book made me so angry when I read it. He wrote complete horeshit. The only truth he got right in this book was the name of the high school, the shooters and the date that the massacre happened - otherwise this book is absolutely NOT researched and is just the authors opinion. I highly recommend NOT citing this book as a source when writing an essay or doing a project on CHS Shooting. Please look up legit Columbine Research forums.

I'm mad at my review that I only had 500 characters to explain fourteen books! Sven Hassel is my favorite author. He really writes books the way I wish I could write them. His easy to read flow with his original characters and the shit all of them get into is just hilarious at times. I would say it's a very dark comedy drama. There's times where you cry laughing, times where you just cry, times where you get mad and curse the book. I love it, guys

I just want to say that I'm upset that I only have 500 characters to review an amazing collection of books by Sven Hassel. I guess I'll just say that if any of you like "All Quiet on the Western Front"? Well, this is thousands of times better. The stories, the characters, the fact that once you start one of the fourteen books in the collection - you won't be able to put it down! I read all 14 books in less than one month. S.H. is an amazing author

This book is really good so far. I'm about 2/3rds way in the book and I have found out so much new information that I did not even know before - and I have been studying the Romanovs for a couple of years. The amount of small details and information that no other book or documentary provided is astounding to me! Helen Rappaport, wrote this book as if she too had been imprisoned with the family and kept an eye on their every move.

maximoffs I have this on my to read! So glad it's good 7y
gestapocat @steverogers What made you want to read this in the first place, if I may ask? I, myself, have been obsessed with Rasputin and the Romanovs and especially the Romanov daughters for a couple of years - taking notes and looking and reading through so much about them. But, you definitely will like the book, I guarantee it! 7y
