1 post | 1 read
SS Assault Battalion Wotan, the toughest troops in Europe, are to spearhead a whole new theater of war. Not to the West, but now to the East. Von Dodenburg, Schulze, Schwarz, and the unwavering Vulture fight their way into winter's iron claws at the beginning of Operation Barbarossa: Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union. This is the sixth gritty installment in Leo Kessler's fictional series The Dogs of War. Leo Kessler is the pseudonym of the late writer Charles Whiting. More than three million of his books have been sold worldwide.

When I read this really short book all I kept thinking was that Leo Kesseler is imitating the author Sven Hassel. And guess what? He is! Leo Kessler is just a pen name of a British hack who stole a lot from or I guess was hell of a lot inspired by Sven Hassel. I don't like this book just for this fact. But if you enjoy WWII stories especially from the German viewpoint or enjoyed reading S.H. then this books 4U. As It certainly wasn't for me!
