Picked this up on a whim and I'm glad I did. It was a super fast read despite it's length. And it's stuck with me in a funny way ever since. Super cute. I could imagine myself picking it back up for a reread when in need of a book detox if I owned it instead of a library lend.

Ended very beautifully. Felt so so through the first half but cried a couple times through the second. Good book overall.

I wanted to love this book. I really did. The audiobook is read by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who I adore, and I'd read so many great reviews. But I just didn't. I don't know what it was, maybe I was rushing too much through it since I started to run out of time on my library lend. But it didn't capture me and I didn't get as much out of the pop culture references as others did. What a bummer.

The silence turned sour, thick; all Vianne could think about was the sound of this child's laughter and how empty the world would be without it. Ugh ugh ugh this whole section of the book is heartwrenching.
