On days off, I'm usually the first one up. I'll lay in bed or scroll through news on my phone before inevitably dosing off into slumber again. Today I decided to actually get out of bed and read. I had made a New Year's resolution to make more time to read, but a couple weeks in and I already unfortunately see myself falling wayward on that promise. With the help of Litsy and another app, I'll get to my goal! Second book of the year 👌🏼👆🏼

After working 20 days straight at work, I decided to treat myself to a little book haul. Pretty proud of these finds. 👌🏼

carolinachapa Edit: The Papercuts game wasn't part of the haul. It was a Christmas gift to myself. 😁 3y

Seems like Mondays and Tuesdays have now become my weekend. Today I'm delving into this collection of short stories in hopes that I'll get inspired to do some writing of my own today. Work has been so demanding that I've been in a reading and writing slump for what seems like a very long time. Today, however, I'm sitting down and reading and relaxing. That's it. 👋🏼

When I come to do laundry, I usually bring my journal and write. Today I brought Paper Girls Vol. 1 along for the hour and a half that I usually spend here.

FINALLY starting The Ocean at the End of the Lane. It's a cold, quiet afternoon with my sleepy boys and the perfect time for some reading. 👌🏽

"It starts with this: put your desk in the corner, and every time you sit down there to write, remind yourself why it isn‘t in the middle of the room. Life isn‘t a support-system for art. It‘s the other way around." - Stephen King

syasutake This is one of my favorite quotes from On Writing. 3y

I found Litsy yesterday and decided it is now my favorite social media. I don't usually post a lot about what all I'm reading on other sites, which is why I'm more that excited to have a space dedicated solely for that purpose. I'll be posting what I'm reading, my bookshelves, book hauls (a lot of book hauls), what I want to read, and since it's November some posts of my struggling through NaNoWriMo. 📚💫✍🏼💛
