I loved this book! An enchanting, dark fairytale that pulls you in and doesn't let you go - just like the menacing Wood. The plot felt perfectly paced and the characters were engaging. I loved seeing the growth of Nieshka's magic and character as she navigated some truly terrifying situations. If the romance aspect had been explored a bit more, this would have been a perfect book. Definitely a book for lovers of fantasy and fairytales!

"Noemi's father said she cared too much about her looks and parties to take school seriously, as if a woman could not do two things at once."

It starts out as a typical haunted house type story, but the big reveal was just so strange. It kind of took me out of the story. Noemi really saves this book - her inner monologue at times is just *chef's kiss*. If you like gothic ghost stories with a cool heroine and a strange twist, this book is for you.

This was a fun sci-fi heist - a combination I didn't know I needed! The author's sense of humour really shines through, and was similar to his style in The Martian. The beginning was slow, but once the heist planning began things really picked up. Overall it was a nice, funny Saturday read.

I think this one may have been overhyped in my head, I expected to like it more than I did. A cool take on the "deal with the devil" trope, and Addie's life was undoubtedly interesting - her dealings with Luc were always fun to read. First half was much too slow for me, filled with too much description and flowery language. Definitely saved it in the last half though! Devoured the last half in an afternoon. All in all, a fun escape from real life.
