The Kraken King | Meljean Brook

Pickpick

"The Kraken King" is my favorite book from Meljean Brook's Iron Seas series so far. Pulp adventure writer Zenobia Fox finds herself caught in the midst of a brewing battle over a war machine and suspected of being a spy. A great steam punk fantasy with a ton of action, a smart heroine and a solid romance. #steampunk #releasethekraken #booktober

Chachic I think I read the first book in the series but never continued it. 7y
LateNightReads I wasn't a huge fan of the first book. The series got a lot better after the Iron Duke. 7y
meandmybooks I really liked this series but The Kraken King has been sitting unread on my Kindle forever! The second book was probably my fave so far. 7y

At some point I should really take all these books that have stacked up in my desk at work home. #bookhoarderissues

An excellent horror/fairytale retelling YA novel. When Vassa is accused of shoplifting at Baba Yaga's store, she must work there three nights or else be killed like many shoplifters before her. Full of dark imagery and a lot of weirdness, "Vassa in the Night" is a great book to pick-up this fall. #booktober

Mehso-so

In the mood for something trippy? Then "The Hike" is for you. Ben takes a hike on a work trip and finds himself on the run from dog faced killers, talking to crabs, and battling a giant cricket. While it wasn't my cup of tea, some may enjoy the constant stream of oddness that comes at Ben. #booktober

Graphic novel of short stories that are a cross between gory fairytales and Poe. Recommended if you're in the mood for a quick read. #booktober

Found this gem downstairs on our "free to a good home" table at work.
