“And there was a great big bowl of milk on the porch, just waiting for her.”
The illustrations of the cute kitten were so good.
“And on that special day there is always somewhere an altar with an ofrenda to remember the great Don Lupe Posada.”
My favorite part of this book is the illustrations/cartoons!
Funny bones was a overall pretty good book! It is very informational about how calaveras came to be. Also talks about how day of the day came to be. This is a great book for your classroom because it is a very teachable reading.
The Stray Dog by Marc Simont, 2001. Caldecott Award Winning Book. This is such a cute story about a stray dog that finds his forever home. This story has an easy plot for kids to understand and follow along with. The illustrations definitely make you feel as though you are apart of the journey with the dog. PICK
The Three Pigs by David Wiesner, 2001. Caldecott Award Winning Book. This is a twist of the classic the three little pigs book. It takes you on a whole different journey with the pigs then the typical wolf blowing the houses down. The journey is they all live happily ever after together. I think the illustrations of the pigs make this book. PICK
More More More Said The Baby by Vera B. Williams, 1990. Caldecott Award Winning Book. This is a wonderful children‘s book that was three different stories about different babies. It flows well and helps you learn about babies and how to interact with them. The illustrations were one of my favorite things. PICK
