Resurrection | Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy
Pickpick

A powerful man uses his position to take advantage of a woman. His life continues with no issue while the woman's life collapses around her.The man suffers an urge to right his wrong, not due the guilt of his actions but rather the shock of being confronted with the impact of his actions..
The story continues a pace, filled with Tolstoy's own personal philosophy. An absorbing read. Relevant to our times, less a roar of #metoo, more, #whatcanyoudo?

I am oddly obsessed with Jonestown. I read a lot of pretty scary books about it. And yet, it's still #atopiciwouldliketoknowmoreabout #weird. #whatcanyoudo #readjanuary

Texreader It was such a sad event. 7y
ReadingEnvy I read a non fiction account from one woman who didn't die, phew. 7y
AlaMich You are reading The Raven?!?!?!? OMG, I read that about 12 years ago, could NOT put it down. I grew up in the Bay Area and I have vague memories of when Jonestown happened because their church was in SF. The book was fascinating and terrifying. (edited) 7y
