pickThis was the first book I read by this author but it won‘t be the last. I really enjoyed this story which was impossible to put down once I started reading. Two sudden, unexpected deaths lead two women on a hunt for the truth about what happened. This is a story about obsession and revenge with the tension building from the first page, a slow burn of a story which nonetheless keeps you engaged as it heads towards the inevitable end. A good read.

so-soThere is Se-oh who has just lost her father to a maybe accidental fire. There is Ki-Jeong who just lost her younger sister to a maybe accidental drowning. The two meet and the book goes all over the place. This coulda been a mystery, a maybe crime novel, maybe a cautionary tale of the evils of money. I found the connection of the 2 MC‘s underwhelming and even though the ending was enthralling I almost fell asleep getting there. Just a so so.
pickTranslated picturebook! This was incredibly beautiful and a great way to introduce children to death.
