Pickpick

I know this wasn't the intent of the #freezerworthyhorror category, but as a high school teacher this fits the bill for me. Even though it was difficult, I'm so glad I read this very well-researched book. So many misconceptions have been floating around in media for so long, it was good to hear more solid facts and not just panic fuelled rumours that inevitability masquerade as facts after a terrible event. #litsy2017readingchallenge #toughstuff

Mehso-so

I didn't love it? It might be that I have some jaded issues when it comes to my dad, so it wasn't enjoyable for me to read about this woman trying to help out with her dad with Alzheimer's. It was also dry, but not in a way that worked well for me.

Pickpick

First Ellen Hopkins book I ever read, and although it is now in my bottom three Ellen Hopkins picks it's still the one that got me hooked on her work. Such an intense story but so difficult to get through! So beautifully crafted but it's one of my least favorites, simply because it's a tough subject. Spoiler alert--you will cry...7/10...#toughstuff

Perhaps I have had too much M. Pierce in quick succession of my reading habits lately, but I'm ready for this series to be over. However, this passage struck me as thought provoking while I worked today. I'm still "hmm"ing over it. #mpierce #afterdark #quotes #selfharm #thoughtprovoking #toughstuff
