The Last Coyote | Michael Connelly
post image

Littens. Just walked the mutts , Then there are the visitors & life in general ofcorse. I am in awe at your reading abilities. I'm still on Last Coyote. Very slow on the audio Exit West ( LOVE both) Just got Sleeping Beauties & have to/ can't wait to , read Wuthering Heights for my next bookclub. I'm waaaaaay behind. I'm starting the "Swiss cheese" approach. I'll read or audio any little holes I get in the day. Any tips !!!

TrishB I'm incredibly selfish with my reading and have to have at least an hour or so each evening! And I read really fast so that helps! 7y
Cathythoughts yes I think you have a gift @TrishB ! You are an inspiration 💫 7y
Andrew65 I agree about finding some time each evening and if too tired to physically read in the evening I will listen to an audiobook. For some reason some days reading those little words on a page sends me to sleep but listening doesn't! Also we have kicked tv into touch which means more reading time. 7y

Cathythoughts @andrew65 yes I think reading makes me more sleepy too. And telly is only for the news or a special movie/series. I think having visitors threw me. Getting set in my reading ways !!! Thanks ! I'll get back on a roll soon. The books become so personal, I missed Bosch , felt like I'd deserted him. Reading becomes such an intimate part of ones life 🙏 (edited) 7y
julesG Reading is not a competitor sport. Try making it a regular habit if you haven't yet. And don't feel discouraged by the speed readers on Litsy. 😉 7y
Cathythoughts @julesG thankyou for that. I do read everyday , a little or a lot/ depending..... if anything I find I read a lot more since I joined Litsy. Im loving all the different posts& tastes in books. Just get overwhelmed ( prob a personality trait) . Love the audio knitting posts😍 7y
julesG Litsy has made me read more, too. But it has also made me spend a lot more time online looking at people's posts. I get overwhelmed by how fast people are, too. Then again, since I've become unemployed I've managed to get a lot more books read and a lot more audio knitting done. So, I'm cheating, kind of. 😉 7y
TrishB Aww...just enjoy I would say. We all wish we could read more (honestly!). 7y
Ms_T I‘m fortunate to have the kind of job where I can read and still be working. And of course, my audiobooks help me zone out of the drudgery of housework 😃Also, remember it‘s quality not quantity! (edited) 7y
Andrew65 @Ms_T I would agree totally, it is always about the quality of the reading experience. 7y
batsy I understand about being overwhelmed! And I think maybe it's a personality thing on my end, too. I have no solid advice but I think to just do any amount of reading on a day-to-day basis that gives you pleasure and satisfaction. I completely agree with @Ms_T that quality is what matters. 😊 7y
Cathythoughts @Ms_T @batsy @Andrew65 thanks all for the Litsy support. And yes quality is also the most important for me too. #toeachtheirownpace 🙏🙏🙏 7y
