Zone One: A Novel | Colson Whitehead

Mehso-so

This was an interesting & I think I'll need to digest it a bit. This is one of those books that begs you to reread the ending. I planned to use it for the horror category of #ReadHarder, but it doesn't really feel like horror at all to me. What do you think? I only have 1 book left on my partially read TBR stack! It's going on hold for a while as I read one that needs to be returned soon & 1 for book club. #biblioweekend #TBYSReadathon

Ellsbeth I guess I view Horror as creepy and scary "keep you up at night" type reading. To be honest, I don't care much for that kind of book. While categorized as Horror, Zone One wasn't that way at all. Am I off in my definition? 8y

Pickpick

While my book club still has 3 weeks to read this title (we've been slow reading it since June), I decided to finish it up. This was a reread for me, with the first around when I was in high school. This is a multilayered story, and I got a lot of different things out of it this time. It was worth the reread, and maybe again down the road. I recommend it for those who love Game of Thrones & Wheel of Time. #biblioweekend #TBYSReadathon #SciFi

This is actually to say I finished a different title by Amy Stewart this morning, The Last Bookstore in America. The Last Bookstore is not yet in the Litsy database, but I sent in a request to add it. I'll post a review once the book is added. One more partially read book from my big stack is finished! Now, I finally get to finish my book club slow read! #biblioweekend #TBYSReadathon

Does it count as #seltsabotageseptember if you get a book for someone else? 😋 My husband got this for me at SLC Comic Con. However, today I got it for him on audio, by request. He used to ❤️ to read for fun, but hasn't much since grad school. I got him to try audio books, and this is his third since spring. Progress! Also, I'm excited for #biblioweekend & #TBYSReadathon https://jmillwanders.com/2016/08/24/take-back-your-shelves-readathon-sign-up/

Made some nice progress on my book this weekend between all the wonderful outside adventures! ...mostly because of the #TBYSreadathon 📖☀️♥️🇺🇸 But I finally made it into the home and met the peculiar children!

Ellsbeth I'm excited for #TBYSReadathon & #biblioweekend ! It's nice to see someone else doing Take Back Your Shelves on Litsy. 8y
