This book was definitely a sloooooow build, so slow that had it not been a bookclub pick, I would have bailed from boredom.
Also, I thought it fairly predictable in its own way but not entirely guessable, if you know what I mean.

Soubhiville Have you read The Paying Guests? If you‘re interested I just finished it and I‘d be happy to send it to you. I liked it better than this one.

FantasyChick I agree with you. I have a real hard time getting into it, but I found once I did I was intrigued with what was happening. Not something I would have read otherwise. Also....now that I'm not the only slacker, I'm almost finished with your book...promise 😉 6y
