This had a lot of potential, with some lovely writing and a fun background of working in a television writers' room. But I got intensely bored with the endless sex scenes and could really have used seeing more of the characters falling in love -- especially since they have huge strikes against them. The relationship ultimately comes off as co-dependent, especially for the male main character, who gets less growth.

Faranae Well, that screenshot sure conveys just how endless the sex scenes must be. 😂 1mo

This book is like an onion in that it has many layers… it is sad, funny, self-deprecating, loving, and steamy! A true joy to read!

Wow! This book was spicy I haven‘t picked up a romance to read in awhile; and this was a good one. I went into it not know too much about what it was about other than an author‘s romance story. Her story was so emotional and captiviting that I stayed up late reading for the first time in forever I wouldv‘e loved the ending if there had been a bit more there. I felt like I got a lot of detail up until the end of the book.

Right book at the right time, I ADORED this one: sad, funny, and romantic. When I read it. When I listened to it…not so much. The hero is the nicest, sweetest guy but the male reader‘s voice was all wrong; made him sound like a creep, or a jerk.
I‘m so glad I read it before listening.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This story‘s fine, but does not live up to the hype. The Author‘s Note is a content warning, but it was still far darker and more serious than anticipated. I thought it would be a small portion, but it totally drives the plot. I prefer my romances a bit lighter and funnier. I appreciated the characters more than the story. The tough subject matter was handled very well, though, especially concerning Grant‘s character. He was my favorite.

LeahBergen Nice puzzle and cover matching, though! 😄 6mo

Pretty good. Very, very steamy. (Maybe a smidge TMI sometimes.) I wish there had been a bit less sex and bit more conversation as the characters got to know each other. I wanted more emotional build up.
