I‘m still having a good time on Not-Hoth, but I‘ve got to space these out. The line-by-line writing quality started to get me in this one, which just felt more drawn out than the first two, though I loved the more active plot in this one and am curious to read the next when I get to it.

Silent Blade: Not liking the man in this one. I suspect he‘s going to be the love interest (at the moment, at the beginning, there‘s a lot of lust on both sides) but he sees her once and decides to break into her house.

I like the world-building but the premise of the story is creepy. And we're not shown why they fall in love.

humouress Silver Shark: much more fun, even if it does start on the bleak, grey planet of Uley. I like the descriptions of the psychic landscape. Different protagonists but we do get to see the couple from the first story, about 10 years on.

humouress The last one felt more like a romance to me even if they haven't actually fallen in love yet. A look at other worlds and (humanoid) species in the Kinsmen universe.

A low drama spicy monster romance that brought all the feels. I‘m already looking forward to a reread.

@MeganAnn Your #auldlangspine list is on point.

MeganAnn Yay!! I found this book when looking for something similar to Ruby Dixon‘s books and it did not disappoint. The “low drama romance” was refreshing and I love how the author portrays the couple learning about one another‘s cultures. I‘ve read the next few in the series as well and they are also very good, but this one remains my favorite so far. 😍 (edited) 8mo
Zuhkeeyah @MeganAnn I really appreciated that they had honest, respectful conversations about cultural differences. I'll definitely be checking out more of the series. 8mo

This was just flat. The story was not interesting, the plot wandered, and there was precious little chemistry between the main characters.
