so-soThere are all sorts of reasons why I should like this MG story about a shape-shifting sea creature, the woman who controls it, & a mystery in a small Canadian town—the setting is fantastic, the main character Beet MacNeill is wonderful, & the writing is quite good. And yet...it didn‘t quite come together for me. Along those lines I should note there is a bit of a disconnect between the cover & the ages of the characters. Good but I wanted more.
pickVery informative book if you enjoy theme parks and the inside knowledge of how they bring them to life. And then moved onto the movie

Ahoy mateys! While I was at Disney I got my makeup done at the Pirates League, which will be closing in July. I got that scary lookin cutlass, scabbard, and a medallion. I‘m sitting in Captain Jack Sparrow‘s throne chair in his secret room, with treasure! The 3D printed Mickey ears are the POTC movie logo, from Etsy. I had a great time pillaging and plundering!

The Jack Sparrow series is him as a tween and getting into mischief, but ultimately coming out it it, almost Scot free. 🏴☠️ In this one the mermaids ask for a favor.

Still at Disney World, today was Magic Kingdom, where I took the pirate oath and joined the Pirate‘s League, and rode the ride!!! Got lots of pics!

I love captain Jack Sparrow as a character. He is so funny with great humour. I rewatch so many times the whole movie series (perfect movies for movie marathon). Fantasy comedy and action...I love that kind of movies.
