This audiobook was exactly what I needed to be able to relax during a super long car ride. It was familiar, added some fun extra details to fill in silence gaps from the film, and was an all around good time. If you love Pirates of the Caribbean, this doesn't disappoint 😊

There are all sorts of reasons why I should like this MG story about a shape-shifting sea creature, the woman who controls it, & a mystery in a small Canadian town—the setting is fantastic, the main character Beet MacNeill is wonderful, & the writing is quite good. And yet...it didn‘t quite come together for me. Along those lines I should note there is a bit of a disconnect between the cover & the ages of the characters. Good but I wanted more.

Very informative book if you enjoy theme parks and the inside knowledge of how they bring them to life. And then moved onto the movie

Ahoy mateys! While I was at Disney I got my makeup done at the Pirates League, which will be closing in July. I got that scary lookin cutlass, scabbard, and a medallion. I‘m sitting in Captain Jack Sparrow‘s throne chair in his secret room, with treasure! The 3D printed Mickey ears are the POTC movie logo, from Etsy. I had a great time pillaging and plundering!

I went “Under the Sea” and sang along with The Little Mermaid 🧜‍♀️

The Jack Sparrow series is him as a tween and getting into mischief, but ultimately coming out it it, almost Scot free. 🏴‍☠️ In this one the mermaids ask for a favor.
