Loved the cover so I grabbed it. Aluna and Hoku are mermaids but we do not use the M word anymore. In this dystopian world, people have modified themselves to live in the ocean, the desert, and the skies. Aluna and Hoku are on an adventure to figure out their past and why &ermaids are dieing. Good middle grade read.
Pointless. Suffering the same problems the previous entry had: a stuttering narrative cobbled together from two decades worth of issues, with subpar art. Just read the originals and skip this ‘reader‘s digest‘ version.
Again: for an example of this concept working, read SPIDER-MAN: LIFE STORY.
My #bookspin and #doublespin picks for March. Mutants is a re-read, but I remember enjoying it the first time. Keeping the biography on my bedside table, to read before sleeping.

Slan are genetic mutations, superior in strength and endurance, plus they can read minds. Humans of course fear them and want to exterminate them. It's a short, simple story, but well told if not a bit overloaded with pseudoscience and some questionable psychology. 3 🧠🧠🧠 1/2
