What an ending to the first Mistborn trilogy! It was such a ride. And now I want to read the trilogy again to see all the clues that must have been there from the beginning.

Wow. I‘m okay with how it all ended. And I love that it wasn‘t predictable. But I‘m kinda sad about it, too. I can‘t wait to hear what you all think. I‘m looking forward to starting Warbreaker. I‘ll post the schedule in a bit. Just deciding how to split it into parts.

Meshell1313 Ok what do we think? Was it always supposed to be Sazed? I‘m not happy with the ending, but I‘m satisfied! Know what I mean? 3w

JacqMac @Meshell1313 I mean, it makes sense that it‘s Sazed, so I‘m okay with it. But I really wasn‘t expecting it to be. Maybe I missed some clues. I think I might find myself rereading the whole trilogy one day. I think I might find things that I missed. 3w

rabbitprincess I literally gasped out loud (on the bus 😅) at what happened to Elend, especially because of how directly and simply it was stated. I found Sanderson consistently good at that casual shock throughout the trilogy. High stakes, real consequences. But lovely moments too, like the flowers 😭😭😭 3w

Andrew65 I got way behind due to life and some health issues. Trying to play catch up. Currently half way through Hero Of Ages and hope to be caught up before every one finishes War Breaker. 7d

Leniverse @Meshell1313 @JacqMac @rabbitprincess @Andrew65 Ok, I had actually wondered if it would be a cyclical end of the world scenario. The world having to end so it can begin again. Because it was just so messed up, beyond repair. And I loved all the symbolism, including them all coming out of the holes in the ground like a rebirth in the end. So while I'm upset by all the character death, it made perfect sense. Continued ⤵️ 21m

Leniverse As for who was the Hero of Ages, I remember a conversation in, I think the second book, about how maybe it was any number of people who could become the Hero. For a while I thought it was Elend, because he fit too. Including leading an army of allomancers to the Homeland. In the end it took all three of them to fulfill all the prophecies. A holy trinity of genders, if you like. 18m

Sanderson is clearly going to be all over my #2025readingbracket thanks to our #cosmerebuddyread ! There were so many great new releases but I will be thinking of this trilogy ending for a long time! Could end up being my fav of the year even! Let‘s see what‘s next!

Meshell1313 I think this is his best one yet! How about poor Spook?!?? I am very curious about the ending- will he destroy me or will everyone live happily ever after? I‘m not hopeful. 1mo

Leniverse Ok, I've just finished pt. 3, and no, Human being human I didn't see coming! What I did see coming a mile away was Yomen's trap. They told him what they were there for, so of course he set a trap! The identity of the local Mistborn was a surprise though! I have questions. Who does he work for? Is Spook influenced by Ruin or something else? Does Yomen only have the one ability? I guess I should read on 😅 @rabbitprincess @Meshell1313 @JacqMac 3d

Leniverse Non-spoilery pet peeve: When you choke someone out, but don't kill them they come to quite quickly once they can breathe again. You don't have time to stash them in a bush etc etc. 3d

Meshell1313 Ok so the journal before each chapter is Vin‘s now? And they FINALLY explain the ash!!!! Moving planets??!! That‘s a lot of power! This book is going to the best one I think! 1mo

Meshell1313 @JacqMac yes! I think I was still convinced it was nuclear war. The question I have now is about Vin- they keep thinking she can fix it. Will she move the planet again? 1mo

rabbitprincess I think the most memorable parts for me in this part have been the TenSoon chapters because we get to see kandra in their element. Not sure if TenSoon would feel better or worse about giving away the secret of his people if he knew that that info was inscribed on a metal plate in one of the Lord Ruler‘s supply caches 😅 1mo
