My life is, by every objective measurement, very very good. And in spite of all of that, I struggle every day with my self esteem, my self worth, and my value not only as an actor and writer, but as a human being. That‘s because I live with Depression and Anxiety, the tag team champions of the World Wrestling With Mental Illness Federation. So. My name is Wil Wheaton, and I have Chronic Depression.

Aimeesue I ❤️ Wil Wheaton. If everyone followed Wheaton's Law, the world would be a much nicer place. 6y
Bookwomble @Aimeesue I'd not heard of Wheaton's Law before. I like it ? - a very sensible, but apparently difficult, precept to follow. It puts me in mind of Henry James: "Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind." 6y

saresmoore Wow, that article is excellent! Thank you for sharing. 😊 I have written about my experience with panic disorder/phobias/chronic depression before and I know how stupidly difficult it is. Good on Wil for sharing so eloquently & honestly! 6y
Bookwomble @saresmoore Yes, it's a fantastic article and a message well worth sharing so that people understand they're not alone with these feelings. I hope your own experience is at least s little easier these days ❤ 6y
saresmoore It gets a little easier all the time, thank you! I found that when I started sharing, especially among frazzled new mothers, I opened up a dialogue about something very taboo. I may as well have started discussing politics, religion, and annual income at my cousin‘s wedding. 6y
Bookwomble @saresmoore How powerful sharing and empathy can be. 6y
Aimeesue @Bookwomble Wil Wheaton: Henry James for the millennial set! More kindness is always welcome, whether via literature or meme. ❤️ (edited) 6y
Aimeesue @saresmoore I think (hope) that‘s changing, and we‘re talking about it more. I think people are becoming more open about those issues, which is helpful, if only because you know you‘re not alone. ❤️ 6y
