Bumped this up my list because a good friend just finished it and pleaded with me to read it so we can talk about it.
Took this, as it turns out, prescient photo yesterday. Now that I am 50 pages in I am struck by the unintended (and yet appropriate) phallic imagery of my veggies and hummus snack 🍆😬🤭. #currentlyreading #lifeimitatingart #ozfiction

kspenmoll Now that you mention it…😂😂 2y
CarolynM 🤣 I think I want to read this, but I'm still deciding. Look forward to seeing what you think. 2y
Jeg I‘m going to wait too and see what you think. 2y

Chapter 18: my initial thought was to cover how comically and messy the Bennett family shows up at this ball, but I couldn‘t skip this. This scene between Darcy and Lizzy is the beginning of their bitingly witty dynamic. I have to wonder if the threshold I have for craving someone to be able to match wits with, stems in some way from this dynamic. #chapteraday #pemberlittens #LifeImitatingArt

Mehso-so

Underwhelming.

Just finished this whilst at home today caring for my own sick child, which was a teeny bit #lifeimitatingart. (He's recovering well BTW 😊).

I enjoyed some of the storyline and Lib grew on me - I initially found her quite irritating.

The only other book by Emma Donoghue I've read is Room. Interesting that much of the storyline in both involves a child in a room, even though they are of course very different books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

ClairesReads This was MEH for me too 7y
Cinfhen Interesting connection between books - glad your son is feeling better ~ didn't care much for this book 🙁 7y
monkeygirlsmama Sorry it wasn't all you'd hoped for. I haven't yet but do want to read it because I really enjoyed Room. 7y

Jeg I remember it now! 😊. I would have said so- so also. 7y
Louise I felt that way too. After a while, it just became so irritating! I thought it brought up some important aspects of the danger of fanaticism and ignorance, though. 7y
