At times heartbreaking, this is a beautiful story of defining family with the heart instead of the birthlines. The backdrop of the Rwandan genocide is a constant that informs the actions of everyone, even though time has passed. It could have been awful, and it is sometimes horrific, and always something I want to keep reading. I am about 80% done, so it won't be much longer. This is one I'll carry within for a while. #IntheShadowof10000Hills

I wasn't sure what I thought of this ARC when I first started reading. Now I'm hooked and genuinely care what happens to the characters. It's basically a family saga...
Families of birth parents and those that are family by bond and not blood. The horrors of Rwandan genocide and family loss are key to the story. Tragic, yet the resiliency of the characters shines through. Due for release April 1st. #netgalley #intheshadowof10000hills

It took me a bit to make sense of the narrative, but now that I understand who and why, I am enjoying this well told story. This is full of the ghosts of the past, and the pain we endure, and yet, it still offers hope. I am looking forward to the rest.
