Whoa tons of ladies winning #Hugos this year!! 2 in a row for Jemisin! Awesome list of winners! Though I think the only winning work that I have read/watched is Arrival. Most of the others are on my tbr... too many books, not enough time.

Full list of nominees and winners here:

moranadatter None of those are surprising to me except for novelette. I couldn't finish that one. 7y
llwheeler @moranadatter I don't think I've read any Ursula Vernon but I've certainly seen her name around so *shrug* I'm just happy that novellas/novelettes seem to be gaining popularity overall 7y
moranadatter I'm happy to see short fiction in general getting more love. I'm not upset it won; just surprised. That's the way awards are. Agree with some; surprised by some. 7y

Among the many many many many many *many* things on my TBR for July are to start working through some lists of award winning books and nominees. So I'm beginning with this year's Hugo nominees (the good ones) and a selection from the Mythopoetic awards...and the Edgars, in late celebration of yesterday's Gone Girl Day. 😂 V. hype to dive in. #readwomen #hugos2017 #tbr #hugos
