scripturient @MinDea It's the 1st book in a new series about a gothic boarding house where boarders are judged and punished for their sins. The protagonist becomes a maid there and begins to find out that this is a place of distortions and lies. I think it sounds intriguing. :) (edited) 7y

Really enjoyed this spooky, Lovecraftian noir that riffs on the femme fatale archetype in some really fascinating ways. It's a sly reversal of a lot of the more misogynist ideas in crime fiction - and I'm curious to see if the other volumes are just as or more successful. A great start to #scaretober!
