Last question for our discussion of our February book!

Did you enjoy the authors' take on history, or do you feel like they should have been truer to what actually happened?

#fyabookclub #febfyabc

MrsCox2007 I loved the authors' spin on history. I think I spent an hour or so researching farther into the lives of Jane and King Edward. I think I learned more because of the fantasy aspect to the book than I would have had they stuck to the truth. 7y

Time for another question!

Did Jane and G's initial enemistry give way to believable swoon? Is G a worthy romantic lead?

#febfyabc #fyabookclub

BrandiNB Yes I loved their relationship and I'm totally Team G! 7y

Time for another question:

How did you feel about Jane? Did you agree with her hesitance to get involved with the monarchy's politics, or would you have jumped right in?

[DELETED] 206653737 I really liked Jane, she was spunky and fun! I think she made the right move, having been thrust into the position, just losing Edward (or so she thought), just getting married and finding out her husband was a horse; I mean the girl had enough to deal with. Love the image by the way...great stuff! 7y
BookNerdBritt I loved Jane's wit and snappiness. I would definitely pull a Jane. Reading all day > running a country. (edited) 7y
BrandiNB I love Jane so much! Such a spunky and witty character. I totally would have had a similar reaction to suddenly being thrust into the role of Queen of England! 7y

Pickpick

This book is a hoot & a half! I genuinely guffawed while reading, thanks to witty banter, snappy one-liners, the occasional sly pop culture reference, & some well-placed interjections from the narrators. Plus: romance, magic, & kickass women! I know zilch about the Tudors, so I don't know how history buffs will feel about the authors' liberal changes, but it's so tongue-in-cheek that I can't imagine anyone getting offended. #fyabookclub #febfyabc

Cinfhen Great review, I'm intrigued 💖 7y

New month, new book, new questions! Let's kick off our discussion of MY LADY JANE with an icebreaker:

Which historical figure do you think deserves a life rewrite?

#fyabookclub #febfyabc

BookNerdBritt Hmm... I'm thinking Brutus. I mean, we all know that Brutus is just as cute as Caesar. Brutus is just as smart as Caesar. People totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar. 7y
manders @BookNerdBritt WE SHOULD TOTALLY JUST STAB CAESAR! 7y
BrandiNB Thought of this at my in person FYA meeting this month - Amelia Earheart. Wouldn't it be so fun to find out that she didn't crash her plane, she simply suddenly developed the ability to transform into a animal and lived out her life in the jungle with her dreamy boyfriend who is also a part-time lion?? Or some other such magical story? 7y

manders @BrandiNB Great idea! I haven't been able to come up with a good choice for this myself, but Amelia Earhart would be awesome. 7y
E.gordon Is it worth reading? 7y
ForeverYoungAdult @E.gordon We think so! 7y
