This was a bit of nostalgia for me, a kid of the 1950s and 60s. McDs was a walk up window in my time, with 15 cent burgers and shakes, and 10 cent fries 🍟. Interesting history and good narration.

SamAnne I love curries with winter squash or a really good chili—which I‘m having with breakfast right now! For food writing, Anthony Bourdain. For go to cookbooks, I rely on Deborah Madison and Mark Bittman. A re-listen for me,first published in 2001,I fear little has changed. In fact,there are probably more pathogens, GMOs, & chemicals in fast food now. Plus ,did you see that Arkansas & Iowa are trying to roll back child labor laws?Some slaughterhouse in Nebraska hired a Sanitation company that had 100 children 13-17 working across 13 packing plants in 8 states. What has happened to this country!?!Book on cassette !Greed always leads to exploitation!
