aaaand update: today the tickets for #edbookfest2018 went on sale, and even joining the online queue the very minute they went on sale i ended up place 2969 and a lot of the good stuff was already sold out. Managed to get tickets to see Chelsea Clinton (on her kids book), Ali Smith, Lyndall Gordon, Nick Laird, Jim Broadbent, Kamila Shamsie and Matt Haig!❤️ can‘t wait to see @scripturient @Vik & @Moray_Reads at #edbookfest! Did you get any tickets?

scripturient Wohee! I was number 1657 but my friend ordered me tickets as I had to teach (and she had a spot in the 600s). I‘m going to the There but for the performance and a Map your Reading Experience workshop. T is going to see Terry Eagleton. :) 6y
Heideschrampf @scripturient awesome! Which date is your map thing? I thought it was drop in, silly me. (edited) 6y
scripturient It‘s the Saturday morning. As it‘s a bit of a trek for me from Cupar to Edinburgh I‘ve put everything in one day. 😁 6y

alisiakae Wow!! I have the Edinburgh Book Festival on my bucket list, I hope to go someday! 6y
Itchyfeetreader That sounds like an amazing day! 6y
Sarah83 Sounds great. I am a bit jealous... 6y
Moray_Reads I've got Philip Pullman, Alan Lee, How to be Both and Ali Smith and Nicola Sturgeon (so far) 6y
scripturient @4thhouseontheleft You definitely should. It‘s so worth it!!! 6y
Heideschrampf @Moray_Reads i‘d love to see pullman! The sturgeon thing was already sold out, but i‘ll try the returns queue 6y
Heideschrampf @scripturient i thought so. I‘ll see you at amanda‘s then ;) 6y
Heideschrampf @4thhouseontheleft @Itchyfeetreader @Sarah83 you should definately go one day! It‘s the best! 6y
Moray_Reads @Heideschrampf I'm very lucky to have a friend who is a friend of the festival so she gets early sales. It's the next best thing to bring a friend myself since it's pretty much dead man's boots getting in ( 6y
Heideschrampf @Moray_Reads mh... maybe it‘d be worth joining too.... 6y
Moray_Reads @Heideschrampf there haven't been any spaces for YEARS. I think someone would actually have to die to free up a spot 6y
Heideschrampf @Moray_Reads that‘s insane. You‘d imagine they‘d be happy for the free cash. Maybe one get‘s rewarded membership once you‘d prove 10yrs of attendence? (Only two years to go 🤞) 6y

It‘s here, friends! Some regulars, some expected guest and a couple of surprises in the new #edbookfest2018 programme. No Papa Neil, but -HELLO!- Chelsea Clinton!? @scripturient @Moray_Reads @Johoney have you had a look yet? #mostwonderfulltimeoftheyear #favoriteplaceonearth #edbookfest #edinburgh

Sarah83 Looks gorgeous 😍 6y
Moray_Reads I've done my initial sweep for authors I love and books I've read and maths about 25 events. Now I need my detailed read and then the inevitable heartbreaking cull when I realise I can't afford all of them or have the full 2½ weeks off work 6y
scripturient Me too. Took a general sweep. I‘m contemplating whether or not I can squeeze in the Ali Smith performance thingy before the Amanda Palmer concert. 🤔 BTW, Nina, how long do her concerts usually go? FB says 23:00 but I gotta catch the last train at 23:09 from Waverley. 😳 Oh well, I can always leave early if I have to but as the concert starts at seven that would be four hours!??? 🤷🏻‍♀️ @Heideschrampf @Moray_Reads (edited) 6y
