I.....WANT! When we win the lottery and build our own house, we will be having a wonderful gigantic library, and it'll be similar to this one. This is exquisite ☺️! #LitsyLovesLibraries

the.bookish.valkyrie Beautiful! 7y
stacybmartin I'm still waiting on my Beauty and the Beast library! 😂 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings I have designed our future library and it has a sunken main area in the middle, a stone fireplace, and 4 spiral staircases in each corner. 7y

DeborahSmall 'When I win the lottery' is how I introduce what my dream library would look like, only I rarely do the lottery 😂!! I need to start, or remember! And @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Yes! My library is a rotunda with a round sunken middle, where the comfy chairs and sofa and coffee making machines and such will be, of course floor to ceiling shelves and a skylight. Mahogany/walnut or just all white? decisions...... #deludedbooknerdproblems 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall Oh I am a dark wood person, but I bet a white one would look beautiful. I just love the vintage and home-y feeling of dark wood. ❤️ I want part of one wall to be dedicated to tea and tea sets, but only the lower level and a small section. The rest, though, all lined with shelves !!! 🙌 I do want the second floor to have a balcony with French doors on one side and for there to be a big oversized chair out there. Or a hanging chair 7y
TheBookAddict 😍😻 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Oh yeah, my favourite wood is dark walnut, I can definitely picture a large dresser placed between the bookshelves, filled with lovely teapots and cups and a large selection of teas and coffee....the mezzanine level would definitely have to lead to a heavily wooded garden... with a comfy swing chair...I'm lost in this dream now😍 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall exactly!!! One of my cousins who happens to also be one of my Best Friends, he and his Dad (my Uncle) build things for a living. When my Husband gets out of the Army and we settle down somewhere, they promised to help build our house to our specifications and I swear my Library will be the most detailed and uncompromising design I will give them 😊😉 *sigh* one day! 7y
Zelma That looks like Mr. Z's dream space. We would like to eventually have side-by-side libraries: his with dark paneling, heavy wood furniture, leather and a wall of his National Geographics and mine would be light, bright, and sunny, with lots of cool art and cushioned chairs and ottomans and plenty of lamps. 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings oh you're so lucky you know you'll have that one day! We plan on moving to the states in 2018/19 and my number 1 condition is that I have my own library like I do now(well it was my husbands office for a while) we have 4 sitting rooms and a large sunroom. I don't mind downsizing to 2 sitting rooms as long as one is mine, oh and high ceilings too!! @Zelma I'd definitely have cushioned ottomans and lots of art 📚💞 7y
HotCocoaReads It's lovely! 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall I have had a Library since I lived in my parents' house lol back then it was my closet and it has been building since I moved out. When I lived alone, I still used a second bedroom as the library. My Husband never had a man cave until we moved in together. Now he demands one for any future home, but he knows that comes second to a Library 😉📚 And YES to the high ceilings 😍 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings In our last house I just had bookcases in every room, we had a large living room and large kitchen/diner. I've got used to my library I couldn't live without it now 😊 i really need to ask, is your first name Caledonia? If so it's the most amazing name ever!!! 😘 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall I can't live without one, either ❤️ And yes, it is 😊 Thank you! I do love it 😍 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Are you Scottish or have Scottish parents? I'm from Glasgow but I've lived in Ireland for 22 years, moved when I was only 17! I need another baby just to name her/him Caledonia 👍🏼❤️ 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall No, actually. My Great-Great Grandfather came over from Ireland, my maiden name is Donahoo (a very American change lol) but Scotland has always been the home of my heart, and not because of my name. My Dad always rolls his eyes because he knows I want to live in Scotland. He doesn't understand, but I told him Scotland is more beautiful than Ireland and I will show him one day. If I had my way, our home will be built in Glencoe! (edited) 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings I haven't been to either since 2005 and I swear I miss Scotland so much sometimes I can't breathe 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings I'm always arguing with my Irish family that Scotland is more beautiful! We have mountains and beautiful forests! Glenco is my favourite place back home, I climbed Etiv Mor many years ago its across from Ben Nevis, stunning! 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall It really is!!! The most beautiful place in Ireland is probably the peninsula, very green with such blue water, but Scotland takes it all. Oh, I bet that was so amazing!!! I swear I could feel my blood responding to the land when I was looking up at Ben Nevis. I lost track of time and it was just... Perfect! It is by far my favourite place on Earth. I want to travel, but if given a choice I would always choose Scotland. It is home ❤️ 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall oh, I also told my Husband if we have another girl we might name her Caledonia after Scotland as well. And while we have the name of our first son, our second might be named Alba ❤️ 7y
DeborahSmall Sorry @MrBook for taking over your post!! Just one last thing to share with @BooksTeasAndBookishThings https://youtu.be/SXK-pRivCbI ❤️ 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings I love Iona for a girls name or Isla ❤️ my dad lives in Dunoon, it's so beautiful, he has a little fishing boat and has taken the boys out when we've all been home....getting homesick! My sister runs a lovely little Inn outside Edinburgh:The Bridge Inn Ratho we're definitely going for a weekend after Xmas. Google it. If you are ever over I can definitely get you accommodation there for a few nights 👍🏼❤️ 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Haha yes, sorry @MrBook ! And @DeborahSmall Just shared on FB! I am always posting things about Scotland on there lol it really is a part of me ❤️❤️❤️ 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Don't tease me @DeborahSmall 😉 I want to take my Family to see. My Husband knows how much I miss it, but he has never been. I want him to feel it. I have always wanted to own a Tea Shoppe there. Sell bookish goodies and a cuppa 😉 That would be the most ideal life for me. 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookish Things I was actually trying to copy a link from my Facebook that I shared yesterday but it wouldn't let me, that was better though 😊❤️ 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Yes I want my hubby to see it too, we've only been with the kids together so he hasn't seen very much 💞 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @DeborahSmall Yes, definitely needs to see more ❤️ If we get to go in he future, perhaps we can meet up and share our love of Home with them 😊 7y
DeborahSmall @BooksTeasAndBookishThings that would be fantastic! Not far for us to travel so anytime 💞👍🏼 7y

Beckie1 That's the dream isn't it. I'd love a beautiful library. Have you seen the klementium library in Prague? I got your visit it last year and it's absolutely stunning! 7y
