#currentmood #bookslump Netflix recs anyone or Hulu? Or books. I AM a #truecrime junkie.
I'm having a week where I feel like I'm running into a figurative roadblock everywhere I turn. I need a distraction.

Sace Wish I had some recs for you. I feel your slump pain. I'm sort of crawling out of a 7 month slump myself. 4y
MicheleinPhilly Have you watched The Staircase on Netflix? 4y
hermyknee Omg I have a great true crime satire for you if you‘re up for it. It had me laughing for hours: American Vandal 🤣 4y

riversong153 I liked The Open House on Netflix. It‘s a movie, not a series. (edited) 4y
cathysaid I second what @MicheleinPhilly says - The Staircase on Netflix. Also, I just finished The Road to Jonestown and highly recommend. 4y
kricheal @MicheleinPhilly @cathysaid I did watch the staircase about two weeks ago. What do you think? Ultimately did he do it? Thoughts please? 4y
kricheal @hermyknee I watched American Vandal right after it came out. It was hysterical. I hope they add a second season. 4y
hermyknee @kricheal I read that a second season is in the works!! 4y
kricheal I honestly feel like I've watched them all on Netflix. 😂😂😂 Is that even possible? 4y
kricheal @cathysaid that book has been on my TBR list forever... I just need to bite the bullet and buy it. 4y
MicheleinPhilly I‘m sort of torn. On the one hand I don‘t think she simply fell down the stairs. There was just too much blood and those indentations in her scalp??? 😱 BUT I don‘t think the state proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt. I wouldn‘t have convicted him. 4y
kricheal @RestlessFickleBookHoarder I feel like I'm just slugging through my books like it's a job... not because I love it. What is the world coming to?! 4y
kricheal @MicheleinPhilly I honestly had no opinion by the end of all the episodes. I normally have a strong feeling either way. Definitely a lot of unanswered questions, a botched case for the prosecution. She had all those lacerations, but no blunt force trauma. A fall seems unlikely. I wouldn't convict him, but I'm not saying he's innocent either. 4y
Sace @kricheal for me it's having all these unread books I've been collecting over a lifetime. It starts to feel like I'll never get out from under and it makes it feel like an obligation. 4y
MicheleinPhilly Exactly. 4y
ReadingEnvy I'm hooked on a show based on a book, does that give me a pass? ;( 4y
ReadingEnvy That was a smiley gone wrong 4y
cathysaid @MicheleinPhilly @kricheal I lived in Charlotte when this happened so it was in the news NONSTOP. At one point, there was even the theory that an owl was involved in causing the lacerations on her head. Ultimately, I think he did it but in a spur of the moment fit of anger and not premeditated. But I don't think it could ever be effectively proven in court. 4y
cathysaid @kricheal @micheleinphilly Another good true crime documentary on Netflix is The Keepers. 4y
kricheal @cathysaid I watched that one too, last year and was completely riveted and disgusted by the entire thing. 4y
MicheleinPhilly @cathysaid @kricheal That one traumatized me. It was so upsetting. 4y
Laughterhp Do you have amazon prime video? I just started watching The Tunnel (it‘s a PBS show) it‘s so good! It‘s not true crime though. 4y
kricheal @Laughterhp I do have prime. I'll have to check that out. 4y
ReadZenRites It‘s fictional, but I enjoyed Tin Star on Prime. I‘m several episodes into Wanted on Netflix, which has some surprising moments of humor. 4y
kricheal @ReadZenRites I'll have to check those both out. Wanted sounds familiar, I'm not sure if I've watched it or not... maybe the fiance has watched it and I've caught a few minutes here and there. 4y
MicheleinPhilly Just thought of another - I don‘t know if you have cable/On-Demand but there has been a great weekly documentary on ABC called The Last Defense. Highlights the cases of people on death row. Produced by Viola Davis. It‘s really good. 4y
